Most of the jailed radical and terrorist elements were freed after the collapse of Hasina govt. Bangladesh National Party (BNP) members who were jailed for their anti-national acts of treachery, were also freed. However, they played safe by not being the part of the interim govt BUT they surely had a say in the day-to-day administration of the caretaker govt. Barbaric mob attacks on Hindus were unprecedented, of a proportion that indicated Afghanistan-like genocide by Taliban. Although India did raise the issue at the diplomatic level but that did not deter either the Jihadists or the caretaker Yunus govt. In fact, the caretaker govt tried to project as if all these attacks on the minorities were fabricated to malign them. Finally, India initiated some strong measures that did work to some extent but by this time, enough noise was created on the international platforms against the jihadi elements of Bangladesh due to which jihadists relented to some extent BUT more importantly, it pressurized the UN to send a fact-finding team under UN Human Rights Commission (UNHRC). However, their mandate was diverted primarily to investigate the atrocities committed by the previous Hasina govt. The UNHRC committed great injustice to the persecuted religious minorities groups who were deliberately put in the group of “Revenge violence” while they were the innocent victims of the Jihadi violence and had nothing to do with some excesses of the previous govt. It was a shameful UNHRC’s botched investigation. As such, UN, UNSC ad UNHRC have been partisan in their approach towards genocides committed by the Islamists (read “Muted UNHRC Response Encouraging Islamic Genocides”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/muted-unhrc-response-encouraging-islamic-genocide/).
Bangladesh Towing the Jihadi Path
In the aftermath of the frenzied atrocities on the religious minorities, Bangladesh Govt adopted a new path of Radicalism. Police and Armed Forces did not try to keep the Jihadi elements at bay. In some of the instances, they were mute spectators and even colluded with them in the violence. Pakistan sent the ISI chief Lt Gen Asim Malik allegedly to integrate the Jihadi forces with the administration in a similar manner that they are in Pakistan. ISI Chief along with some senior Pak Army officers were also taken to Northern Div, close to India’s chicken neck possibly at the instance of China to convey a message that India too could be split in to two. It has been Pakistan’s nightmarish dream to split India’s North-East (with Chinese assistance?) as a revenge to East Pakistan being severed from them. Bangladesh also tried to consider itself as the guardian of the Bay of Bengal and made some overtures too in this regard while talking to the Chinese President. India gave a stern warning to desist from any such misadventure lest Bangladeshi chicken necks too were in the Indian grips. India’s rebuttal of stopping the transit facilities thru’ Indian airports has shaken delusional caretaker. There are many such retaliatory actions that could seriously hurt Bangladesh. It is only hoped that the message had gone loud and clear.
Paki ISI chief might have suggested the jihadi groups to force their minorities to flee to India like the one seen in 1971 Pak genocide, but India tightened the border, not allowing the frightened minorities get-in freely. On the contrary, India resumed the fencing work with which Bangladeshi authorities were perturbed because it made the illegal migration difficult. This also made it difficult for the Bangladeshi and Paki jihadists to infiltrate into India. Bangladesh has many reasons to tow Jihadi path. Firstly, their hateful Quran incites them to establish a Global Islamic Caliphate, and this could be achieved only through jihad. Secondly, both India and Myanmar are opposed to the Jihadi Islamic elements. Myanmar is actually at the forefronts of the revenge of world jihadists because the illegal Rohingya Muslims have been kicked out from the Rakhine state. Hence, in a relatively short time, nearly two dozen of Jihadi organisations have proliferated in Bangladesh who are allegedly being armed by Saudi, Qatar, Pakistan and Afghanistan. It can be expected that their violence against non-Muslims in own nation as well as against India and Myanmar will only increase in the coming months and years. The radical and Islamist communities are increasingly becoming untrustworthy for the world.
Word of Advice to Bangladeshi Minorities
In the initial days of the turmoil when the Bangladeshi minorities were highly frightened, they wanted to flee to India for safety. It is believed that some words of advice came from India for the minorities to unite together to ward-off any genocidal intent of the Jihadists. Even the author of this article, a Defence Expert on Indian TV Channels along with many others had strongly advised the threatened Bangladeshi minorities to unite and put-up concerted resistance. It was as if another 1971-like situation had arisen in Bangladesh. At that time, Bangladeshis formed their group called “Mukti-Vahini” and this time the threatened minorities should/could form a group of “Raksha Vahini” to put-up resistance. In 1971 India assisted Mukti-Vahini to liberate their motherland and this time too, they should seek the assistance of the Govt of India. India may have to enter negotiation process with Bangladesh for a separate state to be carved out for the minorities where they could live peacefully, without any more threat of the jihadists. If this first step of talk/negotiations failed, Indian Armed Forces could be mandated to make a contingency plan to carve out a separate territory of “Hindu-Desh” or akin-named nation (as shown below) having about 10-12% of Bangladeshi territories north of their Chicken-neck that is from Hakimpur to Mahendraganj.
Another chicken neck of Bangladesh could be cut that runs from the eastern part of Feni Town to the Uttor Char-majlispur; making eastern bank of Dakatia river as international border as shown in the map below. This could be called as “Lower Tripura”. While Hindu-Desh north of upper Bangladeshi chicken neck could provide shelter for the threatened Hindus of Bangladesh, India could retain the southern-east part of the lower chicken-neck incl Chittagong port to rehabilitate about 30 millions of Bangladeshi refugees who fled in 1971 following Pakistani genocide. It will be very befitting reply to Yunus’s poisonous aspirations of cutting Indian chicken-neck. It will demonstrate him that its southern chicken neck cut by India provides a complete hold on the Bay of Bengal incl Chittagong port.
This time Hindus must not repeat the same mistake of keeping Muslims in their partitioned land like what blunder Nehru had made on the partition of India. They have enough population to inhabit the newly formed country (Hindu-Desh) if that happens. There are several much smaller nations in the world managing their own affairs independently. It is a fact that Islam cannot live peacefully with any other religious community. This example can be seen the world over.
Bangladeshi Conspiracies Against India
The short history of Bangladesh right from its birth in 1971 bears testimony to the fact how best they have been treated as a sovereign, friendly and best of a neighbor (read “Indo-Bangla Relations, Cordial Yet Sensitive”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/indo-bangla-relations-cordial-yet-sensitive/). Although this relation has had some roller-costar rides in past, Modi and Hasina governments have had the best of it. Transit of goods facilities at various airports & ports given to Bangladesh, extension of Indian Rail network, Water sharing, electricity, telecommunication, space technologies and military training etc are only a few to mention. Despite all these, the new Bangladeshi caretaker govt chose to sit in the laps of Pakistan & China and worse, while on a state visit to China, Yunus made some very awful remarks during his official visit to China. It speaks volumes of thanklessness of Bangladeshi caretaker govt. They are untrustworthy at best.
The Bottom-Lines
Bangladesh has become that Hyena from a mouse whom a sage (India) had blessed for good behaviour. Now that hyena has started showing its teeth to its creator. It may be the appropriate time for the sage to bring the mouse to its original form by saying “Punar-Mushiko Bhav ! पुनर्मूषिको भव !). As such Bangladesh has become a breeding ground for the Islamic radicals which is incompatible with peace. After India blessed the erstwhile East Pakistan to become an independent State of Bangladesh in 1971 and helped in many ways to stand on own feet, it has started showing its ugly intent to its creator when the caretaker advisor Yunus uttered of the Indian chicken-neck before the enemies of India. It may be the appropriate time to show Bangladesh its own chicken necks elaborated above. This will also clear his misgivings that the North-East States are land-locked and could be choked by joint Sino-Bangla misadventure. Govt of India must ask its Armed Forces to be ready with contingent plans to assist “Raksha Vahini”, the threatened Hindus of Bangladesh so as to give them an own independent nation for a peaceful living. This will also provide India a complete hold on the waters of the Bay of Bengal to counter any nefarious design that they may be harboring.
