What Makes Modi So Confident of 370+ in Parliamentary Election 2024?
Introduction
The noise of Indian Lok Sabha Election 2024 is gradually increasing that will culminate into Crescendo in both pitch and amplitude with the poll process put in motion by the Election Commission of India (ECI). Having been crushed in 2014 and 2019, opposition parties are fearing another drubbing by the voters and there are reasons for it too. Opposition parties, esp Congress is desperate to reverse the previous trends. They had concluded years back that owing to the unprecedented ‘people & nation oriented’ developmental and welfare works of Modi Govt, they will not be able to defeat them thru’ their UPA coalition. Hence, all opposition political parties, many of diverse ideologies, have tried to unite with a “sole aim of defeating Modi govt”. This heterogenous mixture is like water and oil. They may fall to any low of morality in trying to achieve their nefarious goal.
In the effort of forming a larger coalition by the opposition parties, there had been a sea saw battle in gaining leadership role that could not be resolved for long as there were many PM aspirants, the major being Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati, KSR and so on. After Karnataka election win in 2023, Congress emerged as a hope that was soon dashed after 2023 election results of MP, Rajasthan & Chhattisgarh. Hence, they reconciled not to have PM face and formed an alliance of 26 parties giving a name of I.N.D.I.A that soon they started dubiously calling #INDIA to tarnish the image of the nation as most of their constituents are Chors, thugs, scamsters, extortionists, radicals and abusers of Hindus of the nation (read “I-N-D-I-A of Thugs?, parts 1, 2 & 3”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/i-n-d-i-a-of-thugs-part-1/; https://thecounterviews.in/articles/i-n-d-i-a-of-thugs-part-2/; and https://thecounterviews.in/articles/i-n-d-i-a-of-thugs-part-3/). In pursuing their aim of defeating Modi govt, they are ready to plunge to any low of morality incl treachery. As such, divisions are distinct in constitution of India on religious, sectorial and caste lines causing periodical flaring up of tensions. Constituents of #INDIA are exploring to further divide them thru’ caste census, north-south and linguistic lines besides others.
Modi Mantra
Immediately after coming to power at the Centre, Modi sought to narrow the divide among people through “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas” meaning ‘national development by everyone’s participation. His govt sought to downplay appeasement politics and his policies stuck to it. In his second stint in 2019, he added “Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas” meaning winning everyone’s trust and contribution in the national development. However, in a nation where even Constitution is biased in recognizing ‘Personal Law Board’ of some faith/religion and denying the same to the others, the latter mantra is becoming difficult to implement. Still Modi govt firmly believes in taking the benefit of development to all citizen without discrimination. For the first time, a union govt is taking the benefit of development to even the last person of weaker section standing in queue. Starting with the basic needs of home, toilets, safe drinking water, free rations, free health care; the list of welfare for poor goes on. Modi mantra is essentially to reach out to the four sections of citizens namely: youth, women, farmer and the poor.
There is a valid reason for a very high probability of Modi’s win in 2024 owing to unprecedented achievements in his 10 years of governance. It is for the first time in the history of independent India that a govt has remain unblemished on the issues of corruption and scams which were raining day & night in the recent past of UPA days (2004-2014). Achievements of Modi govt has been par excellence in alleviating poverty, completing numerous developmental projects and taking Indian economy forward from fragile five to the 5th largest in the world. Besides, India has gained voice that the world listens to. Indian defence forces have received a major modernization and moving towards self-reliance. Foreign Ministry has been lauded time and again for their resilient diplomacy and Manufacturing sector has gained large momentum.
The fruit of national prosperity is now being tasted by all citizens of India esp those belonging to the priority groups of the poor, youths, women and the farmers. The Poor have received homes under PM Awas, toilets, drinking water supply, electricity, free provisions under PM Gareeb Anna Yojna and free healthcare benefits under Ayushman Bharat Yojna besides many other schemes. For the Youths, a highly useful National Education Policy has been implemented keeping employability in focus. Higher education has been improved thru’ numerous new IITs, AIIMSs, IIMs, State aided Medical & Engg colleges. Many Universities providing unique programs such as sports, traditional medicine, vocational training etc have been started. Those unable to persue higher educations, have been provided with free Skill Development program. Further, in order to alleviate unemployment, security-free loans have been provided to the youth not only for self-employment but also become job providers for others. Govt has also initiated creation of new jobs esp in private sectors that has mixed response. For the Women, Modi govt has opened almost all sectors incl defence. Workplace for women have been made safer against age-old male dominance and long-awaited Women Reservation Act has been brought. Women have especially been provided ownership in PM Awas, Ujjwala LPG scheme, Lakhpati-didi scheme, Drone-didi besides numerous others. Farmers of the nation for the first time are receiving PM Samman Nidhi of Rs 6000/- per annum directly in their bank accounts. The MSP rise in the farm produce has been maximum in the 10 yrs of Modi Govt. Easy farm loan, subsidized fertilisers, soil card, drip irrigation etc have mixed response. However, additional works are needed to fulfill Modi’s promise of doubling farmers income. The three Farm-bills could have resolved the problems but poor narratives set by the opposition politicians and the middlemen of Punjab & Haryana derailed its introduction. In short, Modi govt has been able to reach out to all sections of people of the nation.
Other than the citizen-centric programs, ten other major achievements of Modi Govt could be enumerated as below:-
- Corruption-free 10 yrs of governance at the Centre.
- India becoming 5th highest economy of the word from the fragile-five in 2014.
- Unprecedented development of infrastructure which is the wheel of economic growth.
- Running world’s largest welfare programs of PM Gareeb Anna Yojna, Ayushman Bharat Yojna, Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM Awas Yojna, Toilets, Har Ghar Nal se Jal, 3000 million dosage of Covid Vaccination besides several others.
- Development of North-East States on highest priority.
- Modernisation of Defence Forces and Indian Railway at unprecedented pace on Atmnirbhar plans. Vande Bharat semi-high speed trains are huge success.
- Becoming manufacturing hub for many products like mobile, automobile.
- Cultural revivals of long-neglected Indian Religions thru’ various Corridors of Somnath dham, Kashi-Vishwanath dham, Kedarnath dham, Ujjain-Mahakal dham, Ayodhya-Ram Janmbhumi, Buddhist circuit, Kartarpur Sahib etc etc.
- Control of Islamic Terrorism threats both internal & external.
- Surplus Power generation with emphasis on Renewable Green Energy.
The above are only some of the high end citizen and nation oriented programs of Modi govt initiated and implemented. Accordingly, there are several tens of such programs doing well for the betterment of our nation and nationals. For the sake of political narrative, Modi govt actions of abrogating Art 370, erecting a highly significant Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, reforming Muslim Personal Law of 3-Talaq etc are only some of his numerous achievements.
Nefarious Acts of Modi’s Political Opponents
Most constituents of recently formed INDI-Alliance of opposition parties are known thugs, scamsters, radicals, extortionists and Muslim appeasers. Knowing well that Hindus don’t react or retaliate to the abuses hurled on the community, they have become more and more indulgent, taking the community for granted. Their recent abusive indulgence in Tamilnadu is described in an article (read “Abuses on Sanatan Dharma” https://thecounterviews.in/articles/abuses-on-sanatan-dharma-by-dmk-and-christians-in-tamil-nadu/; Rahul Gandhi’s utterance against Hinduism is published as “I-N-D-I-A के “पप्पू-वचन”: ‘हम हिन्दू-धर्म के ‘शक्ति’ से लड़ रहे हैं", https://thecounterviews.in/articles/hindu-abusers-of-indi-alliance/; and Mamata Banerjee’s TMC’s atrocities on Hindus of West Bengal is published as “Plights of Hapless Hindu Women in West Bengal”.
In their attempts of appeasing Muslims, they even disregarded the invitation of Ram mandir Pran Pratishtha in the revered Ayodhya temple assuming Muslim voters will be pleased. Instead, Hindu workers of their own parties took strong offence and many leaders left their anti-Hindu parties. It is very strange how regularly Rahul Gandhi or the other constituents of INDI alliance keep abusing Hinduism. It is even stranger that Hindu majority of the nation neither react nor retaliate. Whether Modi’s BJP will be able to extract some electoral mileage out of it in 2024 election, remains to be seen but strong possibilities exist. Modi 1.0 came to power at the Centre on the failures of UPA I & II both thru’ acts of omissions (failure of governance) and commissions (of raining scams). Modi 2.0 came to the power thru’ his pro-people, pro-poor, pro-nation, pro-development and anti-corruption acts of governance (read “What makes Modi so special for India”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/what-makes-modi-so-special-for-india/). Not that everything has been rosy in Modi govt during 10 yrs of their governance, there have been various shortcomings too (read “Successes & Failures of Modi Govt”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/74th-republic-day-successes-and-failures-of-modi-govt/). Fact Sheets of Modi 2.0 enumerate it all (read https://thecounterviews.in/articles/fact-sheet-of-modi-govt-2-0-pt-1-of-3/; and https://thecounterviews.in/articles/fact-sheet-of-modi-govt-2-0-pt-2-of-3/).
A Unique Governance Model of Modi
Modi surprised the world with his unique development models for new India with making of toilets for the poor, creating zero-balance Jan-Dhan bank accounts linking the poor with banking system, connecting 18000 leftover villages with the national electrical grid and providing free connections to the poor homes. He made his governance model on “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka prayas” although it was more of a narrative than action. It is a fact though that he remains connected to the vast populace thru’ his unique “Man ki baat” radio program. He made his govt fully transparent with no room for corruption that holds good even today after 10 yrs; this is unprecedented in Indian history.
People saw Modi govt honestly trying to work for their causes and connected themselves with many of the mass movements...be it Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan, Open defecation free (ODF) villages; voluntarily giving up multiple LPG connections for distribution to poor women under Ujjwala Scheme, encouraging the unemployed to take up self-employment thru’ various programs be it Mudra Scheme, Start-up / Stand-up India to earn livelihood as well as providing jobs to the others. The mainstay of those novel schemes were it to be selfless, scam-free, pro-poor, pro-farmer, pro-Armed Forces, pro-development, and the government working in the interest of the nation. It benefited all.
Popular or Populist programs of Modi Govt
In the last 10 yrs Ministry of Finance transformed from fragile five to the fastest growing 5th largest economy in the world. The Armed Forces acquired a rapid-most modernisation of all times. Farmers of the nation received Rs 6000/- per annum of Kisan Samman Nidhi for the first time and also got maximum MSP rise of all times. It is other matter though that the opposition parties are exploiting farmers, only because Modi Govt had promised them of doubling their income that Congress couldn’t provide in their 60 yrs of rule. More than 32 Cr unemployed people received Mudra loans to sustain livelihood to their families. Ayushman Bharat scheme is providing free medical care to 10 Cr poor families. PM Anna Yojna provides free provisions to ~80 Cr poor & marginal people from the times of Covid19, thus elevating nearly 13.5 Cr BPL people as per a Niti Ayog report. The list of Modi’s welfare projects goes on.
Such achievements in 10 yrs of governance were unimaginable in 2014. Modi govt has also made India proud on international platforms be it isolating terror sponsoring state of Pakistan, evacuating Indian nationals from war zones of Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, Ukraine or Sudan or be it a group leadership of G-20 in the newly built unique infrastructure of ‘Bharat Mandapam’ of international repute, becoming voice of global south and so on. India remains a favoured destination for FDI and largely independent of the warring power blocks, remaining friendly to most of the nations inimical to each other.
Unprecedented Development Approach
The unprecedented Infrastructure Development of highways/Rail/Airports/Sea-ports in the nation is glaringly visible. Development of Border Roads connectivity long neglected by the Cong & UPA govts, has been one of the Key Response Areas (KRAs) under Modi Govt since 2014. Monumental infrastructures of the likes of Sagarmala, Golden Quadrilateral, Navi Mumbai Bridge, numerous modern tunnels across Himalayan mountains, beautification of roads & bridges, numerous many Metros etc are already in position, opened for public. In addition, all ailing industries have been given new lease of lives by upgrading its outdated machines and bringing in newer technologies. New institutions of higher education have been added in the last 10 yrs in the form of numerous AIIMSs, IITs, IIMs, Engineering, Medical & Ayurvedic Colleges, Sports Universities etc are only a few enumerated here. Modernisation and reforms in the Indian Armed Forces neglected in the last 3 decades, got the biggest boost. With the induction of lethal weapons into the arsenals of Army, Navy, Air Force, and Strategic Forces, Indian Armed Forces is now a global power to reckon with (read “A Happier Indian Army Celebrating ‘75th Army Day’, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/a-happier-indian-army-celebrating-75th-army-day/; and ‘Neglected Indian Navy Regains Lost Pride’, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/neglected-indian-navy-regains-lost-pride/). The ailing, outdated and defunct Ordinance Factories have been reformed with corporatization and accountability producing modern arms & ammunitions. The best part of the Modi model of development has been that most of the projects for which he laid the foundation stones, were completed and inaugurated for public too.
Last 10 yrs of Modi govt have undoubtedly been inspiring for most if not all. It is another matter though that most of the corrupts and scamsters in the nation are on run, trying to save own skins. Opposition political parties mostly headed by the corrupts are crying foul, not realising that some of their corrupts leaders having shifted loyalties towards BJP or other constituents of NDA are presently refraining from any further indulgence. Their past crimes have not been forgotten but seems deferred though. Nationals fully know that in a nation of 140 Cr population where there are millions of corrupts, it is not possible to initiate investigation all at the same time. Let the likes of overt Thugs & Scamsters of I-N-D-I-A be taken care of and the dormant others could follow the suit later.
Modi 2.0 Full of Challenges
Modi govt 2.0 was confronted with several challenges that included removal of J&K’s special status, anarchy of multiples Shaheenbaghs following CAA, Delhi Riot indulged by the radical Muslims, globally devastating Covid19 pandemic and the Chinese incursions in Galwan and pandemonium caused by opposition parties during Farmer’s protest and Agnipath Army recruitments. Congress, RJD, CPI, IUML and their smaller support groups revealed their anti-national character thru’ indulgence in rioting and subversions. Congress party has strengthened the suspicion of taking Chinese donation for weakening India. AAP too has played in the hands of secessionists abroad thus fuelling the fire of Khalistani militancy in Punjab.
Modi govt handled the Covid19 pandemic exceptionally well when the global political and economic pundits had predicted that India having dense population will be decimated with complete economic & social meltdown but Modi govt proved them wrong. The core group of Covid19 could timely initiate steps to manufacture own hospital equipment, Test-kits and drugs thus converting the emergency in to opportunity, exporting them to other nations as well. India could manage the world’s largest welfare schemes of providing free provisions to their 800 million citizens for almost 5 yrs facing hardship and could also protect them with ‘made-in-India vaccination’ with >3000 million doses. During the extreme despondency of the overwhelming second phase of Covid, lot many nations came forward to reciprocate the assistance. The fruits of proactive measures adopted by Modi govt is before us in which despite facing hardships, India remains the fastest growing among the major economies of the world where other are struggling.
The major developmental and welfare activities undertaken within India that have improved the life and living of all Indians are summarised in the five text boxes below:-
Numerous Feathers in Modi’s Cap
Feathers in Modi’s Cap are numerous, getting added day by day. The largest feather that Modi-led NDA govt wears in their cap, is a corruption-free, scam-free governance of continuously 10 yrs which is unprecedented. In addition, people centric projects and welfare activities along with 10 major achievements mentioned in the initial pages are surely going to give him a much deserved 3rd term. Citizens of India trust him. It is other matter though that some of those people bearing allegiance to opposition political parties will try to deny Modi achievements of the last 10 yrs. His resolve of “न खाऊंगा, न खाने दूंगा” is creating much of heart-burn to the opposition politicians that has compelled them to join I.N.D.I.A of Thugs trying to save own skin. Corruption ridden govts of Mamata, Lalu, Rahul, Kejriwal, Akhilesh under the lense of the investigating agencies are feeling severe heat who have been found sitting on hundreds of crores of ill-gotten corruption money (read “Chors & Thugs of Indian Polity”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/chors-and-thugs-in-indian-polity/). In addition, Direct Bank Transfers (DBT) to the beneficiaries have plugged the holes from where it used to leak out (refer Rajiv Gandhi’s words that when he sent 1 rupee, only 15 paise reached the beneficiaries). Citizens of India know that Modi govt is on right track, in the building of the nation, making all of us proud.
PM Modi is honest, transparent, working day & night for the betterment of nationals with a sole aim of “India First”. World is not blind to take notice of all these. He has been conferred by numerous international accolades by the heads of States both in developing and developed countries. He has helped not only Indians in distress but even individuals of numerous other nations to evacuate them from war zones. He has kept Indian interest above pressure blocks. However, when it came to taking stern action, he didn’t hesitate to strike well-fortified Balakot. He is highly loved and respected personality in the world. When Modi talks on behalf of India, world listens.
Managing Unemployment
Unemployment in the country has eased out considerably with the self-employment schemes. The statistics of the unemployment in 2024 vis-à-vis 2011 in the text box clearly shows decline from 48.2% among the eligible population in 2011 to 25.7% by now, nearly half. Surely political opponents are crying ‘unemployment’ and high inflation to hide their own failures (read ‘विपक्षी राज्य सरकारें निकम्मी हैं; मोदी सबको रोजगारदे’, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/incompetent-opposition-ruled-state-govt-modi-to-give-employment/).
There are however, major concerns in the job prospects of ‘Mudra-loan’ beneficiaries which is not attractive in the present shape. Most of these self-employment loan holders line up for any govt job. Modi govt had an excellent chance to make the self-employment schemes much more attractive BUT the reluctance of his ministers in improving it are not understood (read “Employment for All Indians: A Possibility”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/employment-for-all-indians-a-possibility/). Maybe he is keeping it under his sleeves for implementation in next term of 2024. At a glance, unemployment and inflation seem very much lower than in the UPA days yet the opposition has been trying to make loud narratives (false though).
India a Vibrant Democracy under Modi
Indian democracy is at its best now. Freedom of expression at the public gatherings and media is at its best that encourages some even to shame the national prides abroad (read “Foot-in-Mouth disease of Rahul Gandhi”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/rahul-gandhi-foot-in-mouth-disease/). Opposition politicians don’t hesitate in condemning (or even abusing) Modi on daily basis in public discourse and TV debates while their own State Govts crush any voice of dissidence whether in West Bengal, Andhra, Tamilnadu, Kerala or elsewhere. No wonder President Biden of USA had to acknowledge it.
Political Opponents Shaming Govt Achievements and the Nation
It is natural for any political party to criticise the govt often with indulgence to belittle their achievements. This is what is being done in India too. There seems to be a recorded false narratives of I.N.D.I.A blaming “Constitution, Democracy, Independent Institutions in danger” which is not the case. For obvious reasons, the major opposition dons black spectacles claiming they can’t see any govt achievements. They paralysed the last 3 sessions of parliament for no reason. The issues on which they caused pandemonium, could have been debated at length in the parliament but they avoided discussion. They have learnt of uniting together to disrupt house whether on issues of Pegasus, Manipur, LAC or something else. Worse, they have all joined hands with Hindu abusers, Muslim radicals and Maoists. They have gone to the extent to decry national achievements. In the same way, any and all monuments of national pride (shown below) raised by Modi govt, are chided upon.
Clearly, Modi 2.0 has not been able to take the opposition along; rather the opposition seems filled with hate against Modi/BJP govt. Now all Modi opponents (incl corrupt political parties) are trying to set up false narratives and propagandas to malign his govt. They are near certain of the phenomenal successes of Modi govt in almost all fields that also makes him favorite to win 2024 election. That is why they are all trying to unite together to defeat him in 2024 (read ‘Chors & Thugs in Indian Polity”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/chors-and-thugs-in-indian-polity/). The false propaganda and narratives largely being fabricated, are at their peak. Otherwise, how could India be placed lower than Afghanistan, Pakistan & Sri Lanka in the global “Hunger” and “Happiness” list (read “Is India Really Low on Global Hunger Index???”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/india-low-on-global-hunger-index/)? It is the handiwork of the political opponents (esp the Communists & Congress) having their clouts among international NGOs colluding in defaming and embarrassing Indian Govt. It is also a failure of Modi ministers in not keeping an eye of supervision on the happenings. It is incredible in Indian politics that Modi govt is invariably implicated by the opposition for the State Govt’s failures in Law & Order, Health, Agriculture, employments and so on. They lump all their failures on to the Union Govt.
Failures of Modi Govt
The author will be failing in his duty not to mention some of Modi’s failures too. These failures are both at national and international levels through acts of both omissions and commissions. At the national level, there are failures in not completing some of the projects as well as complacency in his general approach in political dealings and administration as mentioned in the text box below. There is no doubt that he is the most popular leader in the world today however, it is also a fact that he (or his ministers to be more precise), has become more of an enemy rather than an adversary for the opposition political parties. Many leaders of Congress, TMC, Communists and radical political groups have had utterances of eliminating Modi.
Today all pseudo-secularists in the nation take pride in tainting Modi govt as Right-wing Hindu party although his welfares are for all nationals, minorities benefitting the most. Today most Hindus look at Modi Govt to Muslim’s deliberate attempt of altering the religious demography of India. India is the sole major economy without an NRC listing, with about 50-60 million illegal Bangladeshi/Rohingya population living illegally, eating away Indian’s right. They are threats both to our economy and security. Waqf Board of India has looted maximum public and private properties but Modi govt has not yet initiated legislations to liberate it (read "Waqf Acts of 'Loot-India', https://thecounterviews.in/articles/waqf-acts-of-loot-india/). Similarly, there are many pending actions of decades where parliament is required to enact laws (read "Urgent Issues Being Ignored in Our Parliament:, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/urgent-issues-being-ignored-parliament/). Some other failures of Modi govt are enumerated in the text box below:-
At the international levels too, Modi and his govt has had failures of a different kinds. It mostly pertains to his inability to get the works done both in Indian and international interest. The first of all comes his inability to set in motion the UNSC reforms. India having approx 1/5th of the world population and having done enough for the UNSC, cannot be denied a permanent seat. Indian govt must ensure it. It is also more of govt indifference at the UN of not projecting the World Islamic terrorism affecting India, genocides of Hindus-Sikhs-Christians in Afghanistan-Pakistan-Bangladesh and the Middle East; leave alone passing a bill to this effect in the Indian parliament. Modi with his large clout on the international platforms could have pushed the Human Rights groups to investigate genocide and Human Rights violations in Afghanistan and Pakistan BUT he did not (read “Muted UNHRC Response Encouraging Islamic genocides”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/muted-unhrc-response-encouraging-islamic-genocide/). Some experts also criticize him for not being tough on Nepal racking up the border rows. In the Russia-Ukraine war, he could have taken the initiative to mediate but he seemed reluctant. Some experts in Defence also claim that he failed to energize the RIC platform where India & Russia together could have prevailed on China to refrain from expansionism towards Indian territories in their larger global economic and strategic interests (read “RIC on ventilator”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/russia-india-china-group-on-ventilator/). Modi also failed emphasizing induction of ‘Security Element’ in the QUAD, or make Malabar exercises a formidable Military block to counter future Chinese threats at LAC or in Indian Ocean. On Defence though, Modi’s gains far outweigh losses, if any.
Detractions from Newly formed I.N.D.I-Alliance
I.N.D.I.A block of the oppositions is going berserk with many of their false narratives being raised thru’ 26 different vocal cords. Many experts & analysts call them ‘modern day Ravan’ with 26 heads, most being tainted ones. They seem to have hired the services of even foreign agencies & nations such as BBC (esp Hindi service), Al-jazeera, Khalistanis of Canada-UK-US origins, Modi baiters like George Soros and numerous others. It is so unfortunate and sad that when these foreign agencies shame India, the opposition block of #INDIA feels elated. It is believed that they are funded by foreigners having anti-India activities. Although they have very little credibility, yet, we know that dozens of dogs can pull down a lion. The dogs are meant to bark and they are doing so. They may not be able to defeat Modi and his alliance BUT surely they can inflict some damages to the numbers (400+) Modi is expecting.
Barking by the thugs are at peak. They blame Modi for being investigated and jailed for corruptions and scams. Recent bomb blasts in opposition ruled states of Karnataka and West Bengal possibly have hands of radical Islamists from across the Eastern borders and the culprits hiding in a state where the CM and its police are sympathisers of terrorists. Jihadists are openly threatening BJP in Kerala and West Bengal. It is unfortunate that BJP party President may not be able to take strong step as in the past (read “Political Intolerance against BJP Workers: Weakness of Nadda?”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/political-intolerance-against-bjp-workers-weakness-of-jp-nadda/). Recently, when Supreme Court struck down the Electoral Bond scheme of the govt, opposition parties took pot-shot on BJP while all of them were party to it (read “Politics & Statistics of Electoral Bonds: Perception vs Facts”, https://thecounterviews.in/articles/politics-and-statistics-of-electoral-bonds-ebs-perceptions-vs-facts/). Many such instances could come to light in the remaining days before the election ends.
Looking Forward
The best part of Modi govt has been its forward-looking people & nation oriented policies of future needs. Plans are already in places to make India the 3rd largest Economic power by 2029; and a self-reliant and developed nation by 2047. There are lot more to be done and Modi may be right in claiming “what has been done, is only the trailer of what is to come”. Today’s India is fast progressing to possess all those might needed for making it a world power. Besides, Modi has special charms, charisma and ability to influence most world leaders through his personal chemistry too. Modi has given a mandate to his party and NDA alliance of 370+ for BJP and 400+ for NDA which appears difficult though. However, from the indications, it appears that NDA will secure a comfortable 300+ in the coming election too despite the opposition unity. Whatever be the outcome, it is the citizen of India which will deliver the verdict on the future government.
Concluding Remarks
Criticism apart, Modi govt has performed exceptionally well on all fronts. He is regarded as an avatar of God by the poor sections of Indians. It may not be an overstatement to claim that Modi in his 10 yrs has done as much or even more than all other govts of the past could do collectively in their 60 yrs. The statement may be unpleasant and unpalatable to the opponents of Modi but the fact cannot be overlooked, denied or brushed under carpet. The good works done by 10 yrs of Modi govt are before all eyes, for all to see, feel and enjoy. Under Modi, India is marching ahead with big strides. These are the reasons why Modi’s ambitious 370-plus has merit although it may not be possible in entirety owing to the INDI-Alliance setting various narratives, even if false.
